Zen Shiatsu is a Japanese pressure point massage rooted in the traditional healing art of Anma. By applying mindful pressure along the meridians, the body is invited into regulation, relaxation, and restoration. This method deepens body awareness and relieves stress, fatigue, and emotional imbalance.
The ‘Zen’ aspect refers to the practitioner’s presence and focus. The quality of touch is shaped by technique, inner calm, concentration, and attunement to the moment. The touch is rhythmic, breathing, and responsive to what arises.
In Shiatsu in Silence, the treatment takes place largely non-verbally. Within that silence, a space can open in which body and mind find their own movement toward restoration.
Silence can create room to soften stimuli, deepen concentration, listen more subtly, and experience more directly.
Treatments take place on a futon, while wearing comfortable clothing.
What to Expect
Before the treatment, you will receive a short questionnaire to share your concerns and needs. During the first session, we take time for introduction and special points of attention. After that, we consciously leave words aside: communication unfolds through touch, breath, and presence.
I guide you into silence, allowing you to settle comfortably. The session itself is wordless, focused on body awareness and natural breathing. This creates space for deep relaxation and for the body’s wisdom to emerge.
The Space of Silence
Silence is more than the absence of sound. It is a field of stillness in which body and mind can reorient themselves. During the treatment, the body is given the opportunity to focus on healing and regeneration. Feelings, thoughts, and desires may become clearer, while the mind comes to rest.
Wordless Layers of Contact
Without words, other layers of communication open up. Posture, breath, and touch can express so much. Pressure, rhythm, closeness, a sigh or a glance form a wordless dialogue. On an energetic level, attunement also takes place: resonance, shared breathing, and shared presence.
Listening to Our Nature
Silence also invites us to listen to our nature. The nature within and around us offers guidance and wisdom, which becomes audible when we learn to listen more deeply. In that same space, relaxation can unfold, but also deepening. For centuries, silence has been at the heart of practices such as mindfulness and meditation, showing how calm and attention strengthen the inner self.
Silence as a Source of Inspiration
Silence often opens a creative flow. Just as an empty canvas invites new shapes and colors, a session can awaken inspiration that later finds expression in writing, drawing, music, or other forms of creation.
